Custom Desk in Cherry
A customer bought a new house and finally had space for the office she had always wanted. Since she had waited so long for this special place, she wanted it to include a special desk. So she came to me.
A very religious woman, she wanted to incorporate motifs that reminded her of her faith.
We sat at her kitchen table and I sketched out a few ideas that she really liked. We agreed on rough dimensions, overall style, and wood types.
I went home, drew out some detailed plans, and sent them over for her to approve. Over the course of the next several weeks, I sent her regular updates with photos of my progress. It was fun for me to get her reaction along the way and good for her so that she knew progress was being made and could start getting excited.
It was a fun process and showed me how I like to work. That is, with people who view the projects as partnerships and enjoy the give and take as plans and projects evolve from conception to completion.
